Festive season at The Turks Head has started in earnest. The decorations are up and the fires are lit. The diary is filling up and as Boxing Day is almost full we have added another sitting at 7.30pm. On Monday we held a Christmas lunch for our Meet Up Mondays group and over thirty guests came and enjoyed a fabulous meal with lots of chatter and laughter

Gift Vouchers – If you are struggling for innovative ideas for presents just take a look at our events list. A gift voucher for one of our cookery demos, supper clubs or a Sunday roast can be a wonderful treat.. You can also pay for them by card over the phone and we will post them for you.

Christmas Day – We don’t serve food on Christmas Day. Our kitchen team has a well earned rest. However we are open for drinks from 12pm – 3pm. We are always rammed with guests young and old and it is a wonderful place to stop on a dog walk or to hide from the cooking duties. Please come and say hello.

New Years Eve – This year the pub will be open as per usual until 1am (no tickets). We will have live jazz in the bar and some delicious specials on the menu, including oysters and beef Wellington. We will be taking reservations from 6pm until 9.30pm..

Supper and Quiz Night – Our next quiz will be on Thursday 24th Jan. There will be a delicious two course supper and a fun pub quiz of seven rounds. £18 per person, teams of four to six people.

Vegetarian and Vegan Spicy Cookery Demonstration and Lunch – Join head chef Mauli for tea, coffee and cake, a two hour cookery demonstration, a delicious lunch and a glass of wine. We pride ourselves on our vegetarian and vegan dishes and chef Mauli comes from a vegetarian heritage. Starts 11am, £30 per person.

Gin Pairing Supper – Our last gin supper could have filled the entire restaurant twice over. Join us for a gin fizz cocktail on arrival and a five course supper with a different gin with each course. You will be guided through each tipple by our gin expert. 7pm start, £55 per person.

January and February Opening – We will be closed to give the pub some TLC from Monday 7th January until Friday 11th January at 4pm. From Monday 14th January until the end of February on Mondays and Tuesdays we will be closed at lunch time and open from 4pm until 10pm for drinks only. From March we will be back to normal.

Meet Up Mondays – Our Mondays are a real joy and we usually have 15 to 25 people from gorgeous babies, young and old, women and men. Some great friendships have been forged already. We have people from as far a field as Felixstowe and Aldeburgh who visit. Do you find you are on your own too much? Are you bored of your own company? Maybe you are new to the area and would like to meet some new friends. Join us for tea, coffee, biscuits warm from the oven, bacon sandwiches and a good natter. It is all entirely free. Dogs are very welcome and we would love to see you. Mondays 9am – 11am.

Indulgent Saturday BrunchBrunch is now well established every Saturday from 10am until 2pm. There is a delicious menu with exciting options from a fruit platter to pancakes or porridge, or more substantial dishes of a full English to kedgeree or huevos rancheros (our most popular dish). It includes veggie & vegan choices as well as a children’s’ menu too. Our a la carte lunch menu will be available from 12pm until 3pm as usual.
