This month we hosted our first ’10 Mile Meal’ , where all the ingredients were sourced within 10 miles. We worked with delicious produce from Gressingham Duck, Sutton Hoo Chicken, Virginia Nurseries, AW Mortier, FG Taylor & Sons, Hillfarm Oil, Tidemill flour and Shawsgate Vineyard. It was a beautiful evening, the restaurant was completely full and everyone seemed to have a great time. We will be hosting another one during the Aldeburgh Food And Drink Festival, on the 6th October.
We have launched our updated wine list and all of our ‘by the glass’ wines are now available in 500ml carafes as well.
On Friday 1st July we will be hosting a social petanque evening from 6pm. Beginners very welcome. Come along and meet our friendly team.
Our next quiz will be on 20th July. The menu will be a tasting platter followed by Sutton Hoo chicken and chorizo paella or veggy paella. The cost is £15 each for teams of 4 to 6, including supper. First prize is a £50 voucher, second is a £25 voucher. We have just a few tables left
On the August Bank Holiday (29th Aug) we will be holding a summer garden party with a BBQ and a cider and gin bar. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can see out the end of the summer holidays in style. Rumour has it that we may feature some of Chef Mauli’s delicious wraps as well as traditional BBQ fare.
In August we will be launching a collaboration between The Turks Head, The Ufford Crown, The Table in Woodbridge and Alchemy Wines which has resulted in the launch of a wine – Quartet Sauvignon Blanc. Alchemy wines organised many visits and tastings to vineyards across France and we all finally agreed that this delightful wine from the south west of France was perfect to feature on each of our lists . To celebrate the launch of this unique venture there will be a progressive supper where guests will enjoy a delicious 3 course meal featuring fantastic local produce, and a glass of Quartet with each course, moving between each restaurant and ending at The Turks Head to celebrate our new venture. Transport will be provided and a party awaits at the end of the evening. Each restaurant will be hosting 20 guests and you can decide which restaurant to start at. What more can you ask for? Great food ? We have that too … The cost is £40 per head, including transport. Book now!
We will be running several events as part of the ‘Food Fringe’ – A ‘Steak and Quiz night’ on 27th September, our ‘Progressive Supper’ to launch our Quartet Sauvignon Blanc on 29th September and a ’10 Mile Supper ‘ on 6th October, using fabulous produce from all our local suppliers.
Please note we will not be serving food on Mondays and Tuesdays in January and February, but will be opening from 4pm to 10pm just for drinks.
